Teacher Spotlight
Our Teacher Spotlight shines on Tanya Beilke of Los Angeles, California. A certified Anusara Yoga® teacher, Tanya organized a seva retreat to Peru last year, which brought a group of students to the Sacred Valley of Peru to help establish a medical clinic. The Hampi Pacha ("Land of Healing") Medical Clinic was built with their help and brimmed over with donations of medical supplies and equipment that the volunteers brought from the US. Tanya shares the following words on compassion in action:
The time is now.
Each day, feelings of insecurity arise. We actually believe we cannot make a difference, feeling distant from the truth inside that connects us all. We forget the incredible gift and inspiration of our practice that reconnects us and inspires us to give back to this beautiful world.
Compassion propels me into action. When I see someone suffering, it affects me. I want to be of service. We are all connected universally. It is in this remembrance that I experience the true essence of my heart and participate in life more fully. This is my highest practice. When I remember this, gratitude arises: for all that I have and all that I am. Even when the journey seems too hard, the obstacles too large, this awareness of interconnectedness and connection to my heart’s compassion is what helps me persevere.
Right now “change” is being talked about everywhere.
Remember your magnificence. There is no kula more connected to their hearts and capable of transformational action like the yogis of Anusara Yoga. And as students of this beautiful practice of life, we are being called to action. What are you prepared to do?
